Viviane Berty
Born in 1969 in the south of France, I am left-handed. Passionate about music and literature, I was less interested in the visual arts until 1990, the year I discovered origami thanks to the Toulouse-based astronomer Jean-Pierre Brunet. For twenty years, I practiced origami only occasionally, favoring the beautiful, purely geometric models of Kunihiko Kasahara, Román Díaz, and Hideo Komatsu. I met Giang Dinh in 2011 in Toulouse, then Quyết Hoàng in 2013 in Dijon. Both of them instilled in me a love for wet folding. I began creating my own models in 2012, seeking to represent living beings and objects with a minimum of folds, more through intuition than observation.
Lee Armstrong
I began folding origami when my children were young, because I had no time for other art. Little did I know it would become a big part of my life. It was natural to me to experiment and I began to design my own models, making simple animals which was the first style that attracted me to origami. Around 2014 I started to discover how to make curved, three dimensional forms with the paper and it became an obsession ! I love to explore techniques and try to find different ways of portraying a subject. I’m inspired by the natural world, by people and emotions, and by discovering what is possible with folding paper. I am influenced by many artists and sculptors and try to imagine folding art styles that we never see in origami. I was honoured to win a Joisel award in 2023 for my “Cubist bust” design. In the past few years I have also started to create modular origami, inspired by the forces of nature, and to bring more geometric forms into my figurative designs. The origami community is a big inspiration for me too, so I am very excited to join the MFPP and fold with you all in Angers this year.

If you are under 16, you must be accompanied by a responsible adult. If your companion is participating in the workshops, they will need to purchase a package just like you (no membership required). Otherwise, a companion pass is sufficient (free). If you have a disability and require a companion, they only need a companion pass (free).
How to teach ?
If you register as an instructor, we will contact you with the details. Have you never taught a group of origami artists at a gathering ? This is your chance to try it out in front of a supportive group ! We can offer advice, help you prepare your lesson, and provide on-site assistance if needed.
How to exhibit ?
Whether you are a creator or not, exhibiting your origami at the gatherings is highly recommended ! This is an opportunity to exchange tips and ideas with other origami artists and showcase your skills. A table space will be reserved for you if you have registered as an exhibitor. For any special requests (wall display, additional space, etc.), please contact us so we can find the best solution. Whether you are a creator or not, it is important to label the displayed origami with the name of the origami artist and the artist. You can prepare your labels in advance to specify all the details of the origami on display (origami artist, artist, etc.), or find papers on-site to create them. This is not a sales exhibition.
What is the program ?
The program is developed based on the participants. Therefore, a schedule will be provided two weeks before the event. But rest assured, there will be workshops and interesting sessions every day, tailored to your interests and skill level !
I have another question !

contact@mfpp-origami.fr, we will reply and possibly add these details to this page !
