Folding Convention
What do we do during folding meetings ?
The meetings are moments of sharing organized around several folding workshops. A teacher will offer to transmit a technique, a creation, or a model that he created or that he liked. For the Spring Meetings, it is also possible to meet creators invited by the association who will present their work via workshops but also conferences.
Do you have to be a good folder to come ?
At MFPP, we accept folders of all levels. Each workshop is associated with a level of difficulty. In addition, “ideal” workshop routes will be offered to you every day depending on your practice. If in doubt, do not hesitate to discuss with members of the organization to direct you towards the workshops most suited to your practice. Mutual assistance during workshops is always very important, there will always be someone to help you.
In what language is the event taking place ?
French is the language of most workshops. If necessary, an English translation can be made. If there are other needs, we will do our best.
Do we have access to other services of the association ?
The MFPP takes advantage of the Meetings to bring a small portion of the library, allowing you to do some free folding if you wish. The association’s shop also offers books and papers at attractive prices.
Do I have to choose my workshops in advance ?
No, the choice of workshop is made just before it on a first-come basis. Each workshop has a limited number of places decided by the organization to allow the teacher to transmit in the best conditions. It is not possible to reserve your place.
How are meals and accommodation organized ?
It depends on the meeting places. Two possibilities :
- Accommodation is not included in the registration service. An aperitif or gala meal is offered one of the evenings of the meeting.
Accommodation and meals are offered in addition to registration.
The chosen formula is indicated during registration.
What are the registration procedures ?
The Meetings are only open to members of the association. If you are not yet a member, a membership for the current year will be included in your registration. You will thus have access to all the other services that the association offers.
Can I offer a workshop ?
Yes, offering a workshop is open to everyone. If this is the first time, we can even discuss with you in advance to allow you to prepare your sequence in the best conditions.
What types of models are expected for the exhibition tables ?
The possibility of exhibiting its folds is open to everyone. For reasons of seating, each person will have access to a table space of approximately 40 cm. So there is no need to bring too many models. These can be either creations or interpretations, the important thing is above all to please yourself !
