Our Spring Convention 2025 will take place from 25 to 27 april in Dijon at 9Bis (9 bis Boulevard Voltaire, 21000 Dijon), a 10-minute walk from downtown Dijon, in two large welcoming rooms.

We will have the pleasure of welcoming as special guests Anicé Claudéon (France) and Francesco Decio (Italy).

Anicé Claudéon

Artist and designer based in Amiens, he is known for his particularly cute animal models, characterized by a unique style. Anicé has presented his pieces at numerous exhibitions and conventions in France and internationally. His creations have also been published in various books intended for both folders and the general public.

Today, his work tends towards humanoid models, sometimes folding several subjects from a single sheet, highlighting the illusion of movement, the texture and lightness of the paper.

Francesco Decio

An Italian designer living in Bergamo, Francesco is interested in geometric and modular forms, with a predilection for mobile models or those that can be played with. He sees his folds as stages of a personal journey aimed at arousing the public’s emotion and generating beauty.

Francesco has been participating in Italian origami meetings since the 90s.

His creations are published in several collective works published in particular by Nuinui as well as in folding meeting booklets.

Exhibition Theme

In addition to the classic exhibition of models, this year we invite you to pay tribute through folding to Jean-Philippe Rameau, a music composer born in Dijon. Great music theorist, he is particularly known for his opera-ballets and lyrical tragedy such as Hippolyte et Aricie or Les Fêtes d’Hébé. We hope that this theme around music but also representation will inspire you to create or interpret.

The Place

9bis is the conference center of the diocesan house of Dijon. 20 minutes by transport from the station, 10 minutes on foot from the city center, the place has parking and many car spaces are available in the surrounding streets. The Meetings will take place in two large rooms on the ground floor, with access to a wooded park.

Lunches

For lunches, the association will organize a meal tray service (different choices to be ordered before the event, information later, around €20).

Accommodation

The association does not manage accommodation for this meeting. Dijon offers a fairly large hotel offering that will allow you to find the room that suits you. Remember to book early even if the season is not the most touristy. hôtel du stade and l’Apparteo Dijon are near from the Convention place.
We pre-booked some rooms at 9bis (two single beds) at €53/room/night. If you are interested, contact us before 15th march. Some rooms already reserved may be looking for a roommate, contact us !

How to register ?

Go to the store and select the 1, 2, 3 day package, indicating the days chosen. If you are not yet a member of the association, registration for the Meetings will include the contribution for the year 2024. If you are already a member, identify yourself on the site, the amount of the contribution will be deducted.

How much does it cost ?

The prices displayed on the site include membership to the association (€45 for membership 2025).

What do the packages include ?

The packages include access to the meeting venue and participation in workshops (with materials provided), a welcome pack for participants including paper, documents and the Collection de plis 2025 booklet, and an aperitif on Saturday evening. They give participants the opportunity to teach or exhibit their work during the workshops. They do not include meals, accommodation or transport.

Cancellation policy

If you have to cancel up to 30 days before the start of the event, the association will refund your package less the association membership fee and the associated payment costs (if you paid by Paypal).

Between 15 and 30 days, the refund will be 50% (excluding membership fees and charges). You will receive the meetings booklet by post.

After 15 days, the amount will be retained by the association and you will receive the meetings booklet by post.

Coming accompanied ?

If you are under 16, you must be accompanied by an adult. If this person is taking part in the workshops, they will have to buy a pass like you (without membership), otherwise a pass-accompanier will suffice (free of charge).

If you are disabled and need a carer, all you need is a carer’s pass (free).

How do I exhibit ?

Whether you’re a designer or not, it’s highly recommended that you exhibit your foldings at the meetings ! It’s an opportunity to exchange tips and ideas with other folders and show off your skills.

If you have registered as an exhibitor, you will be given a table space approximately 40 cm wide. For any special requests (wall hanging, extra space, etc.), please contact us so that we can find the most suitable solution.

Whether you are a designer or not, it is important to reference the foldings exhibited with the name of the folder and the name of the designer. You can prepare your labels beforehand to specify all the references of the foldings on display (designer, author, etc.), or find paper on site to make them.

This is not a sales exhibition.

How can I teach ?

If you register as a teacher, we’ll contact you with the details. Never taught a group of folders at a meeting before ? This is your chance to get started in front of a friendly group ! We can give you advice and help you prepare your sequence, as well as assisting you on the spot if you need it.

What is the programme ?

The programme is tailored to the participants. A rolling schedule will be presented a fortnight before the meetings. But rest assured, there will be interesting workshops and meetings every day !
